This Thanksgiving, We Are Celebrating Collaborative Efforts That Made Possible by Your Generosity.

EP1: How Efficient Volunteer Matching Creates a Better Future

From the newly established HKU School of Computing and Data Science*, we have the project “HINCare”, which developed the GIVE (Generic and Intelligent Volunteering for Supportive Communities) system. This system leverages network-based AI to facilitate volunteer matching for NGOs in Hong Kong. It offers intelligent services that enhance the operational efficiency of social welfare agencies, promote healthy ageing, and foster a culture of mutual help.

The system includes a mobile app for users in need, a web-based system for care centre administrators, and a subscription architecture for organisations. By supporting time banking, volunteers can earn time credits for services provided. This has significantly impacted the field by promoting volunteerism and community support.

Your gift of kindness helps HKU continue to innovate and drive impactful projects like HINCare. Join us on 28 Nov for another episode showcasing the projects made possible by your generosity.
