The Danaid Butterfly Research Hong Kong is a long-term study led by the School of Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Science. This captivating project brings together the public, environmental organisations and experts to protect our natural habitats and unravel the mysteries of danaid butterfly migration.
Through a mark-release-recapture study, the research team seeks to uncover migration patterns and routes. Public participation is encouraged by submitting photos and locations of tagged butterflies via Google Maps, making this a true community effort.
This project not only contributes to broader conservation efforts but also strengthens our connection to Hong Kong’s natural habitats, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship.
Thank you for your continued support in protecting our delicate ecosystem for future generations. Join us again next week for our last episode showcasing another impactful project made possible by your contribution.
